At the Rotterdam Community Center, we nourish our neighbors in mind, body, and soul, and serve as a community hub where all people can connect to the resources they need.

Our Bread of Life Food Pantry, chaired by Judy Becker and Jill Becker, serves our neighbors in need. It operates by appointment at various times during the week. Bread of Life can help you with three meals for three days per member of your household. To set up an appointment, call 518.364.3205, leave your name and the best phone number to contact you, and we will assist you as soon as we can.

The BOL Food Pantry is chaired by Judy Becker and Jill Becker and serves our neighbors in need and builds community.

Upon arrival for your appointment, you'll be invited to fill out a form regarding what food items they'd like to to take home. Our friendly volunteers will then fill the order and bring it to your vehicle!

The Bread of Life Food Pantry operates with the generous support of the Schenectady Foundation's Healthy Food Access for All program, Price Chopper and Market 32 Supermarkets, Stewart's Shops, Concerned for the Hungry, Hannaford Supermarkets, ELCA World Hunger, Schenectady Community Ministries, Messiah members and a wide variety of local community members.

The Bread of Life Food Pantry is a member of Food Pantries of the Capital District.

Inspired by a Daily Gazette article highlighting the high rate of students receiving free or reduced lunches in the Mohonasen School District, Messiah opened our Bread of Life Food Pantry in a tiny church kitchen space on October 4th, 2015.

Since that time, the Bread of Life Food Pantry has grown to serve over 1300 meals a month within US Hunger & Nutrition Assistance Program (HPNAP) guidelines. With the generous support of the Schenectady Foundation's Healthy Food Access for All program, in May 2022 the Bread of Life Food Pantry moved into a new, state of the art, one thousand square foot facility at the Rotterdam Community Center at 705 Curry Road in Rotterdam.

The Bread of Life Food Pantry currently operates three physical sessions a month: 3rd Monday from 9a - 2p, 4th Monday from 3p - 8p, 4th Saturday from 9a - 2p.

Need food? Messiah provides healthy and nutritious food to all our neighbors in two important ways here in Rotterdam, New York.

BREAD OF LIFE FOOD PANTRY

TRINITY FREE PRODUCE PANTRY

Our Trinity Free Produce Pantry, co-chaired by Suzanne Collins and Karen Keenan, operates every Friday at 4:30 PM until supplies run out. The Produce Pantry operates on a first come, first served basis, and assists our neighbors with fresh fruits and vegetables to supplement existing meal options. We operate thanks to the generosity of the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York.

While many of our neighbors may need a full service appointment with our Bread of Life Food Pantry to get a wide variety of necessary food items for the weeks ahead, some may simply need to stop by and pick up some fresh produce for a couple days. That's where our weekly Produce Pantry at the Rotterdam Community Center comes in!

Guests often gather in our parking lot and a beautiful sense of community has developed over the last two years! We currently serve roughly 130 families each week.

No I.D., paperwork, or pre-registration is required in order to receive produce from the produce pantry.
