The Bread of Life Food Pantry can help you with three meals for three days per member of your household. To set up an appointment, call 518.364.3205, leave your name and the best phone number to contact you, and we will assist you as soon as we can! Upon arrival for your appointment, you'll be invited to fill out a form regarding what food items they'd like to to take home. Our friendly volunteers will then fill the order and bring it to you.​

NOTE: This group is taking the summer off! The next meet up will be the Wednesday after Labor Day!

Open for new and experienced sewists! Bring your own sewing machine in good working order, machine needles, and a spool of cotton thread. You should have at least a basic understanding of how to operate your sewing machine. If you can sew a straight line, YOU CAN QUILT! Open to adults 18 years and older. 5:30 pm Gentle Yoga with Jean Marie CYT, LMT

Free produce distribution every Friday. Numbers are handed out beginning at 4:15. No I.D., paperwork, or preregistration required.

Welca Craft Fair

It’s back! The Welca Craft Fair will be held Saturday, October 17th from 10:00AM to 3:00PM at the Rotterdam Community Center! This is an event for all looking to support local crafters, makers and artisans while finding that one of a kind item. Crafts, artisan goods, food, raffles and community will be available all day.

Beyond the Vale: Schenectady's Historic Cemetery

In 1857, the city of Schenectady dedicated a new final resting place for its dearly departed citizens. This new Vale Rural Cemetery would be a place not just for somber ceremony but for casual recreation. This presentation explores both the beauty and history of Schenectady's most historic burial ground.

The Battle of Wolf Hollow: Unravelling an Enduring Legacy

Shortly after Schenectady’s founding, a great battle occurred to the west of the fledgling town. In a shady, secluded ravine, a deadly ambush changed the diplomatic balance of the region. The Battle of Wolf Hollow, fought between the Mohawk people and an Algonquin coalition, has long been misunderstood. This presentation seeks to discuss the truth of the bloody affair.
