NOTE: This group is taking the summer off! The next meet up will be the Wednesday after Labor Day!

Open for new and experienced sewists! Bring your own sewing machine in good working order, machine needles, and a spool of cotton thread. You should have at least a basic understanding of how to operate your sewing machine. If you can sew a straight line, YOU CAN QUILT! Open to adults 18 years and older. 5:30 pm Gentle Yoga with Jean Marie CYT, LMT

Open to all, although minors need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. No cost or commitment to attend.

7:00pm Ceramics Class
Second and Fourth Wednesdays

Get in touch with your inner creator and join us in learning all about the Ceramic Industry. You will only be charged for the materials needed for the class. If you have questions, please reach out to Pete Jones at jonesp714@gmail.com​.

4:30 pm: Produce Pantry

Free produce distribution every Friday. Numbers are handed out beginning at 4:15. No I.D., paperwork, or preregistration required.

Welca Craft Fair

It’s back! The Welca Craft Fair will be held Saturday, October 17th from 10:00AM to 3:00PM at the Rotterdam Community Center! This is an event for all looking to support local crafters, makers and artisans while finding that one of a kind item. Crafts, artisan goods, food, raffles and community will be available all day.

Beyond the Vale: Schenectady's Historic Cemetery

In 1857, the city of Schenectady dedicated a new final resting place for its dearly departed citizens. This new Vale Rural Cemetery would be a place not just for somber ceremony but for casual recreation. This presentation explores both the beauty and history of Schenectady's most historic burial ground.

Free Name Change Clinic

In honor of National Coming Out day on October 15th, we are honored to host this name change clinic done in partnership with Legal Aid Society and Empire Justice Legal experts will provide free legal assistance and guidance for eligible New Yorkers seeking a legal name change, and updates to gender markers on ID documents.⁠ Please bring an ID and birth certificate. This event is specifically designed for trans and non-binary individuals, but there are other opportunities for people to seek help with these organizations if they are seeking name changes for other reasons.

Empty Bowls Gala

Love soup? Love helping people? Then join us for this unique event! So far in 2026, our two food pantries provided over 37,000 meals worth of groceries to children, families, and seniors in our community. Help us continue this work, particularly as we launch our new Mobile Pantry Program specifically for Mohonasen young people when they're picked up from school, by purchasing a ticket to our Empty Bowls Gala for $35. Each guest will enjoy delicious soups created by local amateur and professional chefs and will also receive a handmade bowl made by students in the Mohonasen High School Fine Arts program to take home!

Community Movie Night: “Dr. Suess' How the Grinch Stole Christmas”

Join us for a FREE community movie night! This month we are showing Dr. Suess' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! [Rated PG] In this live-action adaptation of the beloved children's tale by Dr. Seuss, the reclusive green Grinch (Jim Carrey) decides to ruin Christmas for the cheery citizens of Whoville. Reluctantly joined by his hapless dog, Max, the Grinch comes down from his mountaintop home and sneaks into town to swipe everything holiday-related from the Whos. However, the bitter grump finds a hitch in his plans when he encounters the endearing Cindy Lou Who (Taylor Momsen). Doors open at 6:30pm and the movie starts at 7:15pm.
